About HelpMail

HelpMail exists because handing over a permanent email address has become the default price of using the web, and that is a bad trade for a ten-minute task. The project is intentionally narrow: one job, done quickly, with the inbox cleaning up after itself.

What we built

• A temporary inbox that exists before you finish reading the headline.
• No user accounts, which means no profile to lose, breach or sell.
• Five interface languages, including full right-to-left layout for Arabic.
• An admin surface for the operator: domains, pages, blog posts, ad slots and cleanup settings in one place.

How the service is funded

Advertising shown around the content pays for the servers. Ads are configured by the site operator through the admin panel, never injected into message bodies, and there is no data-broker arrangement behind the service. If advertising were switched off, the free tier would have to change, so the trade-off is stated plainly instead of being hidden.

Principles we hold to

• Collect less. The only thing tied to your inbox is an anonymous session cookie.
• Expire by default. Messages are deleted with their mailbox instead of being stored indefinitely.
• Do not pretend. Limits are documented on the page you are reading, not buried in a footnote.
• Stay focused. No sending, no mailbox sharing, no social features.

The technology, in plain language

• Incoming mail is delivered by a mail gateway and stored against the mailbox that owns the address.
• Message HTML is sanitized and rendered inside a sandboxed frame, so scripts and tracking elements cannot run.
• Mailbox and message expiry is handled by a scheduled cleanup job.
• The interface is a modern web application that renders each page on the server for fast first loads.
